ADULT LEARNERS WEEK 2012

Due to the run in for Olympics there was always going to be restricted release, for this years campaign. So it was decided by the Lead ULRs to postpone the big event this year until September - October during a festival of learning, and we are looking at somewhere in the London area as they seem to have been a little left out over the past couple of years.
There was still however some pockets of activity happening around the company with visits to Medway area on Monday 14th, Faversham on Tuesday 15th, Ashford & Tonbridge on Wednesday and London Bridge on Thursday. This resulted in over 50 different enquiries about learning opportunities, which will help to plan the coming academic year from September.
Plans are afoot to publish a second learner booklet which gives lots of information about activities and courses happening across the company, plus a list of ULRs with contact details and much more.
On Tuesday 15th May at Faversham the Union Learning Reps at the event also launched a new Bookswap Library which was well recieved with several books going out on the first day and promises of more books to be added.
2012 - 13 promises to be a challenging year in many ways but the need to grow our skills and develop at a personal level is never more important. So if you have anything you would like to learn but are unsure of how to go about it then talk to your Local Union Learning Rep Now.
